GEOTEK Phonebook errors due to low PHP memory condition
« on: Thursday, 29.06.2006 00:15 »
If your CDR Database has more than about 6.000 entries, you may observe strange behaviour in GEOTEK Phonebook for Asterisk, such as missing or incomplete cdr lists, empty search results, wrong pages popping up or session error messages.

This is most likely due to a low PHP memory condition, as can be seen in the Apache / PHP error log at /var/log/apache2/error_log with entries similar to the following:

Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 136 bytes)

This can be avoided by regularily rotaing the Asterisk cdr-csv file before it becomes too large, or by increasing the PHP Memory Limit. To do this, change the default entry of memory_limit = 8M  in /etc/php.ini to a significantly higher value and restart Apache. The current PHP memory consumption can be monitored on the Tools Page of Asterisk Phonebook.
